Social Media Session - Fox Den Store

Hello!  I could easily say I'm OVER THE MOON or THRILLED to share what I'm about to share with you but truth be told I'm a bit embarrassed.  Not because I don't like the work, not because I don't want you to see it.  It's because I feel silly tooting my own horn.  Then I got over it because this shoot took me and many other vendors a ton of work to pull together to show you and I AM THRILLED to do so!  Read on...On a VERY cold winter morning (like many other last winter) a group of fabulous wedding professionals gathered at a stunning reception venue called Columbia Manor in NE Minneapolis.  Upon arrival I get swept up in Erin, from We've got it Covered's, beautiful fabric and flowing materials.  Shortly thereafter I, like a bug to a light, turn to see Tami with Studio B Floral's creations coming to life.  I knew this was going to be an amazing day.  A professionally styled photo shoot was about to happen and I get a front row seat.  Six hours of photos and a couple of pizzas later and we were done.  It was like a well-choreographed dance of wedding beauty.   Once a styled shoot is complete the images need to be culled, critiqued, edited, and critiqued again. Then a story written to accompany them.  What could be better to showcase all of our hard work than in a magazine?  Not one single thing... queue ...

Social Media Session - Fox Den Store

"Good morning Lily!"  "Good morning Maxwell!" "Good morning Richters"When asked what we will miss the most about living in our home I answer, the people.  Every morning possible Lily and Maxwell exchange the above and it starts my day with a huge smile.  We will miss that. We will miss watching Adler and Avery across the street grow into sweet young boys.  We will miss the fiery red head Bekah that runs the streets, the two sweet catholic girls Sophia and Samantha that walk to school every single day with their mom, and the indescribable love between Lily and Lucia.  We will miss Owen’s big beautiful flirting eyes and his wave hello.  We will also miss every single one of their parents and the irreplaceable conversations we've had.  We will miss our lovely neighbor Maribeth and our iced tea conversations in the yard, which Lily called MEbeth for years.  Our  neighbors Al and Naty who sweetly talked Spanish to Lily when she was a baby and would drop anything to talk to you.  We will miss the kind Della Selva family down the street and their two beautiful daughters.  They set the bar high for parenting in our neighborhood with those two girls.  I will miss their oldest, Lauren, she was/is my ferocious assistant both in the office and out in the field.  She has been the most dedicated assistant I've ...

Hello friends!  I am so very excited to finally share this amazing vow renewal with you.   Carefully crafted details in this backyard event were put together by two awesome ladies we know as Simply Loves wedding design and planning.  With closest friends and family, this lovely couple, now a family of five renewed their vows to one another and I was the lucky one that was there to capture it.  Congratulations Melissa and Dan.  I wish for many many many more moons together.  Luckily for Melissa and Dan, Shauna of Simply Loves is a good friend and offered to create their vow renewal for them in her own yard.  Luckily for me Shauna pulled together some amazing vendors to participate and the day was born.  Enjoy...All images are created and copyright of Brooke Ringdahl Photography.  See below for a list of all the amazing vendors that participated in this event.  Photography: Brooke Ringdahl PhotographyWedding Plan and Design: Simply Loves Wedding and DesignFloral: Studio B FloralPaper: Paper Thick InkDesserts: Simply ModernTable and Chair Rentals: Apres Party Rental

Casual Fridays - The lasts

Social Media Session - Fox Den Store

When we do anything major like buy a home, have a child or start a new job we have a list of firsts.  First time we cook dinner in our new kitchen, first time you walked through the door with your baby, or the first time you got a paycheck at your new job.  One thing we typically don't document is a list of lasts.  With selling our home I have really tried to embrace what may be our last time doing something, like this weekend.  Easter.  Every year I take Lily's picture in her Easter dress in front of our dark wood fence.  You all may have even seen it before.  Just like our firsts in this home the lasts have been emotional.  So I share with you... the last time time I will photograph Lily in her Easter dress in front of this fence.  xoxoAll images are created and copyright of Brooke Ringdahl Photography.

Casual Friday - The Showings

Social Media Session - Fox Den Store

It's Thursday morning and I just got home from a whirlwind morning of getting my fashionista out the door to school on time.  As I plan what delicious meal I will make for us this evening my phone *dings*.  You have a request to view your home. Great!  6:15-7:15 pm, which loosely translated, means 6-7:30 ish. With this new information meal plans change because we couldn't cook, eat, and clean up by 6 pm.  I also wouldn't be able to remove the smell of what we cooked.  As unappetizing as that sounds no matter what you cook it doesn't smell good to someone walking in your home to view it.  So scratch that we will eat dinner on the road.  Which means prepare a snack for a child that behaves as if she will die if she has to postpone eating a mere 30 minutes, feed dog early so she can do her "after dinner" things, and clean the house.   Considering we show our home almost daily right now one would think it would remain manageably clean right?  No.  I enter the room of our diva and like her there was a whirlwind that went through her room.  Abandoned craft projects, art supplies, yesterday’s dirty clothing, pajamas on the floor, garbage that didn't make it in the can and a VERY unmade bed.  Ok moving on.  Oh wait is that the dog barking I'll go let her in.  SH*T!  She's full of mud and just tracked ...

Casual Friday - The Why
Friday, April 11, 2014
Social Media Session - Fox Den Store

Welcome to another friendly casual Friday post about our move.  This week I am going to dive into the "why" we get asked every single time someone finds out we've decided to move.  I have a mental list of the why we are choosing to leave the city, why we chose to move to Hudson and why this will be one of the hardest moves I've ever made.  I hate to list all the reasons we are moving from the city because I don't want to offend my city pals if they chose a different path because it's all about what works for us not the masses.  I will mention one major thing about why living in the city isn't as awesome as one may think. Parking.  I know this is a constant battle for anyone living in the city that doesn't have the lovely, take up my whole backyard two-car garage, which we didn't have.  So day after day after parking ban, after snow removal, after tickets in front of my home I struggled with parking on the street for almost nine years.  Why did we choose Hudson you ask?  Well lets be real we can now purchase beer on Sundays and fireworks year round.  HA!  Ok for real it's because it's beautiful, the people are kind, the schools are amazing and it's far more conducive to our family than where we are now.  We've always said Minnesota is beautiful but Wisconsin is just a little bit better.  Honestly though, we will still ...

Casual Friday - We have an announcement!

Social Media Session - Fox Den Store

Yes that's right the Ringdahl's have an announcement.  So, right now, while you are reading this how many of you think I'm pregnant?  HA!  Guess what?  You're wrong.  Our big announcement comes with joy and tears.  We have decided to move from our home of firsts to pursue a dream of my husband's and mine.  What does this mean you ask?  Well, we aren't going far but we are leaving this beautiful city of St. Paul.  After many MANY months of researching we've decided to move to Wisconsin.  No worries my friends I will still be keeping the studio in St. Paul so this means no changes for the business but many for our home.  I have had many friends and family ask about our journey and I figured what better way to keep everyone posted then with a weekly Casual Friday post.  As of today we've been on the market for only two weeks so the journey has just begun.  Now that you know, stay tuned to hear about all of our great adventures to find the perfect forever home for our family.  xoxoThis photo was taken this past fall on a cold wet day in front of our home.  We are waving to some neighbors as they walk by which is the #1 thing we will miss about our home.  Although we have only been on the market for 2 weeks we already miss what the home used to be.  Goodbye to our sweet little home in the ...

Happy Birthday BRP!!!

Social Media Session - Fox Den Store

I am SO very excited to announce that it is our businesses FIFTH birthday!  Five wonderful years of 60+ hour weeks, life balance and working from home.  It brings me great joy to have come this far and I owe it all to you!  My wonderful, dedicated clients.  The past five years have brought me many challenges, tears, joy and excitement.  Even though I have been photographing since I was old enough to hold a camera there were still many "new" things to my industry I had to figure out.  Like digital photography for one.  I was one of those photographers that refused to go digital until I did and now I'm in love and would never go back.  I shot film for the first 10 years of my career and it taught me so much.  The #1 thing it taught me was to grow when my technology did and I'm so glad I did.  Enough sappy thought provoking stuff because this is a celebration!  I want to scream from the top of the mountain that I DID IT!  I started and successfully ran my business for five full years (and many more to come).  I want to celebrate with you...   0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false *Mini sessions must be prescheduled with me and are only available to clients that have had a full session with me in the past year.  Everyone is welcome to attend so bring a friend. There will be prizes, games, raffles, etc. ...

Social Media Session - Fox Den Store

Although most of us dislike this winter (to say it friendly), I try to see the beauty in everything, because it's prettier.  Here are 5 things that I LOVE about winter:1. Snow is so pretty when it's coming down and when it covers the dead left over of the fall.  2. Cold/Snow days off from school.  Sure it can be challenging and the kids tend to drive us mad but I love the extra one on one time with my lil lady.  I will forever remember 2013/2014 winter because of the extra moments I have had due to indoor confinement and the cold.  3. Playing in the snow!  And I don't just mean snowball fights or making snowgirls but plowing down a street through thick greasy snow like a champ with my 4x4 on, type playing. 4. Hot drinks.  Whether your cup is a pumpkin spice latte, hot chocolate brimming with whip cream, or my personal favorite of simple tea there's nothing better on a cold day than gripping your favorite.  5. Color.  I love how color just illuminates in the winter.  It’s so wonderful when photographing.  Although the stark white of the snow can be challenging it can also be giving with some beautiful light bounce.    0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false See I came up with FIVE things I love about winter.  Who knew?  Now off to enjoy some pretty pictures of the snow... xoxo  ...
